White County United Way, Inc. employs grant funding to support bilingual translations of its website and promote and operate multiple community-wellness projects, including Overdose Awareness Day, Little Libraries, Family Break Nights, Youth Summit, and cultural humility trainings.
Community projects in this category offer strategies such as advocacy for, education about, or expansion of access to mental health care.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) provided funding to help reduce the burden of the COVID-19 pandemic among racial and ethnic populations that were disproportionately affected. The resulting gran program, Together We Will, invested over $5 million from 2021-2023 in community initiatives that address health inequities for disparate and marginalized populations of color and indigenous people.
