Program Highlights
Holistic Evolution (H.E.) is in its sixth year of delivering highly effective equity-advancing programs focused in three areas to black males, ages 16-24: prevention, health equity and male mentoring, while using a systematic approach to community level change. A minimum of 50 providing an alternative to violence through a Holistic Hero (male mentors) outing, HE Barbershop Health Series, as well as individual and group mentoring. In addition, the mentor and mentee matches will be trained as community health workers and will work as a team to organize 5 barbershop talks focused on community violence prevention, mental health access and resources, substance abuse and misuse resources, and prevention of risky sexual behavior. Creategency Production will capture these talks on video, edit 3 teaser videos. During the mentor closure ceremony all parties involved will be invited to view the complete edited version of the HE Barbershop Health Series.
